The layout is of utmost importance and we strive to design layouts that use the space efficiently and in a welcoming manner that fits with today’s lifestyles.

We have built our reputation slowly and carefully since our first build in Falls Church City in 2012 and are focused on building charming, quality homes – not a lot of houses. We prioritize relationships with our clients, trades, neighbors, building officials, real-estate agents and foster these relationships before, during and after we hand the keys to a new owner.
Custom High-End Finishes
Cottage Street homes exude custom-level finishes and details from the tile work, hardwood floors, fixtures, furniture-grade built-in cabinetry, and finished basements to the upgraded exterior features such as cementitious siding and wood trim porches. Each Cottage Street project offers something unique that sets it apart such as a custom breakfast banquette, an antique brick entrance way or perhaps reclaimed barn wood beams. This high level of finish detail is our minimum standard on all projects and sets us apart from the crowd.

OUR TEAM
As Founder of Cottage Street Custom Homes, Scott has 20+ years of proven residential real estate development experience. He began Cottage Street Custom Homes, LLC, in 2012 and has completed nearly 50 custom homes, primarily in the Falls Church City and Arlington communities, with several homes underway in 2024. His work has received outstanding customer and community satisfaction and he continues to build his reputation on this foundation. Prior to launching Cottage Street Custom Homes, he spent six years as Procurement Manager for the region’s premier urban infill developer and two-time National Builder of the Year- EYA, LLC. Scott brought with him the best in the industry business practices as well as relationships with the region’s best trade contractors. Scott’s career began with Ryland Homes, a Fortune 500 home builder, where he worked as a Construction Manager and Contracts Manager learning construction fundamentals while building nearly 300 homes. He applies this background to the custom home building experience along with an unwavering commitment to satisfaction built foremost on trust.
Scott is a Class A Licensed Contractor. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Grove City College and Masters work at Johns Hopkin -Carey Business School. He brings in-depth knowledge of the Falls Church City and Arlington communities to the table having lived there for over a decade. Scott currently lives in Loudoun County with his wife and four children.

Kyle Plumb, Project Supervisor
Kyle Plumb is the most recent member to the Cottage Street team, bringing with him 16 years’ construction experience including residential, commercial and government projects. Kyle most recently worked for Taylor Morrison Homes in Tampa FL as a Superintendent developing single and multifamily residential communities. During Kyle’s time with Taylor Morrison he was awarded the “Rockstar” award for ranking #1 in the nation for customer satisfaction for two consecutive years, as well as the“Golden Hammer” award from the Tampa Bay Builders Association recognizing Kyle as the builder of the year.

Kyle’s has a vast background from Coastal wetland restoration and reconstruction, custom home building and remodeling, working with the Army Core of Engineers for the Martinsburg WV Air Force Base, documenting and inspecting the WV – DC 500KV Power Line Trial Project, field representative for a Geotechnical and Engineering firm. The proven professionalism and experience he brings to his role with Cottage Street allows him to hold his customer’s satisfaction with the highest regards.

Kyle came to us from Tampa Florinda and is currently residing in Fredrick County VA, with his wife and children. He is enjoying the new mountain views and likes to spend his free time outdoors.
